In the morning, 30th July 2011, at 08:00, Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN, President of the Cambodian Red Cross accompanied by management team from the National Headquarters and its branch along with charitable donors visited and distributed food supplies and equipments to people living with HIV/AIDS, abandoned elderly, orphans and poor persons with the number of 423 families who came from Chekkreng, Siam Reap Province.
Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbendit expressed her welcome to all accompanied delegates especially officials-staff of the Cambodian Red Cross, CRC's Siam Reap branch and National-International donors for sparing their valuable time to come visit the people. Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit conveyed the greetings from His Majesty the King of Cambodia, His Majesty the King Father and Her Majesty the Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, the Honorary President of the Cambodian Red Cross.
Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit admired the leadership of the Royal Government and all relevant institutions for their contribution in improving the living conditions and dignity of Cambodian people through building infrastructures such as roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and particularly transportation sector which had helped to reduce daily expenses for its people. These achievements had also enabled ease to the Cambodian Red Cross in fulfilling its humanitarian mission on time and effectively in helping most vulnerable people at communities. Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit also highlighted that in our world the humanitarian actions had been taken all over places, especially on poverty issue which was the issue that all countries in the world could not escape and therefore we had to strive ourselves to improve condition for our families. For instant, this visit and donation was just a temporary help but we all had to strive more by ourselves because the Cambodian Red Cross had other duties in mitigating other people nationwide.
During that visit, Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit urged all parents to carefully educate their family's members not to walk in the path such as illegal drug addict which it was the main issue that led to other consequences : destroying health, family wealth, domestic violence and robbery. Moreover, Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit advised all people living with HIV/AIDS not to further transmit to others who was likely to be male and to help to educate their family members and peers on danger of this virus. Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit also appealed all those people living with HIV/AIDS to go to receive treatment services and healthcare by following to the guidance of doctors at hospitals or referral hospitals at their communities. Especially, for pregnant women with HIV positive to regularly monitor and to go receive service of prevention transmission from mother to child with the modern technology and accuracy which could reduce mortality rate for mother and child particularly newborns. Lok Chumteav Kattiprithbindit strongly stressed that in regards to abortion was that we should not let that happen because as human being we all should give a chance for a new life to live and that was a gracious fundamental rights for humanity.
Lok Chumteav Kattiprithbendit advised all Red Cross Youth that they should act as role models for others through having to help each other especially by trying to get their peers to walk in the right path.
Finally, Lok Chumteav Kattiprittbindit sincerely appreciated for the contribution from His Majesty the King and their Majesties the King Father and the Queen Mother in term of humanitarian action of the Cambodian Red Cross and good collaboration from the Royal Government and all levels of local authorities in enabling to help vulnerable people in every disaster.
