CRC has a new governing board and a new Secretary General

1. The Cambodian Red Cross held its Fourth General Assembly on 4-5 August 2006, at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall in Phnom Penh. It elected new Central Committee (governing board) composing of 23 people, and Madam BUN RANY HUN SEN is re-elected President of the National Society. H.E OUK DAMRY remains at his position as First Vice President and OD focal person for the governing board, Lok Chumteav ANNIE SOK AN ,Second Vice President, and Lok Chumteav OUK MALY, the Treasurer. 2. The Central Committee held on that same days its first ordinary session to appoint a New Secretary General and a Deputy, whose names are as follows:

The APLF Leadership Award to elite young leaders of the future

As a legacy of various conflicts over the last two decades, Cambodia has become one of the most heavily landmine/UXO-contaminated countries in the world. According the Cambodia Mine Action Center (CMAC), over 46% of Cambodian villages (or 6,422 villages) are contaminated by land mines and UXO's with an estimated 4 – 6 million mines still left.
